Bal-A-Vis-X (Balance, Auditory, Visual eXercises) are a series of about 300 exercises that are mostly done with beanbags and/or racquetballs, sometimes while standing on a balance board. These exercises require multiple mid-line crossings in three dimensions and are done rhythmically, involving the sound of the moving beanbags or balls. When executed with proper physical techniques, Bal-a-vis-x enables the whole mind-body system to experience the symmetrical flow between people. The exercises can be modified across all levels of ability. The program promotes attention, focus, cooperation, eye tracking, and self challenge.
Rosanne Papadopoulos has received training in Bal-A-Vis-X and can blend exercises into OT treatment sessions.
