Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)

The Safe and Sound Protocol  (SSP) was developed by Dr. Stephen Porges after decades of research into strategies to calm the vagus nerve.  It is a five day auditory intervention designed to reduce stress and auditory sensitivity while enhancing social engagement and resilience.  Based on Dr. Porges’ Polyvagal Theory, that by calming the physiological and emotional state of a person, they are more available for improved communication and connection.

The SSP is research based and show significant results in five days in the following areas:

  • social and emotional difficulties
  • auditory (sound) sensitivity
  • anxiety and trauma related challenges
  • inattention
